Amarillo man dies in Oklahoma crash involving 2 motorcycles

An Amarillo man died after a crash involving two motorcycles Tuesday in Oklahoma.

According to the LeFlore County Journal , Brian Rhodes, 51, of Amarillo was driving a 2016 BMW motorcycle east on Highway 1, three miles north of Big Cedar, when a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Dirk Ross, 26, of Broken Bow, went left of center, striking Rhodes’ motorcycle.

Rhodes was taken to Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he was pronounced dead, the newspaper reported.

Ross was taken by AirEvac to UAMA in Little Rock, Arkansas in critical condition.

Both drivers were wearing helmets on the two-lane, divided asphalt. The accident remains under investigation.
