Section of I-90 Westbound reopens after an early morning accident

Erie, Pa ( WJET/WFXP ) — An early morning accident shuts down a section of Interstate 90 overnight.

The accident was first reported at 2:10 a.m., with a collision between two vehicles around the 29-mile marker of I-90 Westbound. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage as a result. Crews had shut down Interstate 90 Westbound from Exit 32 (Wesleyville/Bayfront Connector) to Exit 29 (Route 8.) Crews reopened all lanes of the interstate just after 3 a.m.

One person was transported to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Police continue to investigate the accident.
