WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The last Big Lots store in Wichita is closing.
In the company’s latest filing with the bankruptcy court, the store at 4165 E. Harry St. is listed among 46 additional stores that will close. In July, the Kansas City, Kansas store was among a group of 89 store closures for the retail chain. Last month, the Olathe Big Lots was included in another round of store closures .
Customers want answers, claim they were swindled by Wichita-based pool builder
Early in September, the company announced it planned to sell its assets and business operations to Nexus Capital Management LP, a private equity firm. By mid-January, the company plans to have closed 550 of its stores.
The retail company was founded in 1967 and up until this year, operated 1,389 stores in 48 states. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9.
