$18M Florida Mansion Purchased by Indiana Private Equity CEO in Exclusive Off-Market Deal

Daniel M. Rifkin, CEO and founding partner of North River Capital, has purchased a mansion in the exclusive Bear’s Club community in Jupiter for $17.65 million. The off-market deal was completed through a trust in Rifkin’s name and equated to a price of $2,034 per square foot for the 8,676-square-foot home.

The sellers, David L. Cohen, co-founder and former CEO of Iridian Asset Management, and his wife, singer Jodee Seiders, had used the property as their homestead. The home last sold for $6 million in 2014, nearly tripling in value over the past decade, reflecting the strong demand for luxury homes in the prestigious Bear’s Club. The community is also home to NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Built in 2010 on a nearly 1-acre lot, the mansion sits along the golf course and features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, an elevator, a pool, and a spa.

Rifkin founded North River Capital in 2008 after a career at OmniSource and Steel Dynamics. His firm primarily invests in manufacturing companies, and Rifkin also serves as founder and CEO of MetalX LLC, a scrap processing and trading company.
