Oregon Quarterback Dillon Gabriel Roasts Reporter for Long-Winded Question

Dillon Gabriel struggled a bit against Michigan State in his first Big Ten home game, so it’s nice to know he’s both loose and sharp with a monumental clash coming against #2 Ohio State this Saturday.

After practice yesterday Oregonian beat writer James Crepea asked the Duck quarterback, “He’s on the other side of the ball but you nearly played for Chip twice in your career. What will it be like to face off with him and like, again, you’ll be on the field doing your thing, but narrative-wise on what’s talked about on television I’m sure they will mention and frame this about quarterbacks against quarterbacks and a guy you could have played for and those sort of things?”

It was a classic Crepea query full of convoluted context, but Dillon defused it deftly.

The unflappable sixth-year senior said, “I mean, you know me James. It’s big on allowing the media to make that hype and the story lines. I mean, we could get in a rabbit hole of possibilities, shoulda, woulda, could’ve. all those things, right? But I’ll leave that one to you and let you do that.”
