VERO BEACH – Join the Pelican Island Conservation Society this October for unforgettable adventures that celebrate the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation. The Pelican Island Conservation Society (PICS) is dedicated to promoting awareness, conservation, and stewardship of the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, the first national wildlife refuge in the United States. Founded in 1993 after a successful 90th Anniversary Celebration, PICS supports educational programs and projects aimed at conserving the unique habitats and wildlife within the refuge.
