PORT CHARLOTTE — The Crisis Cleaning Hotline is open and taking calls after the devastation of both Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene.
The hotline is 844-965-1386 to “assist residents with cleaning up storm-related damage,” the organization stated in a news release.
It is a part of a collection of local relief organizations, community groups and faith-based communities, the news release noted.
“If you or someone you know requires help with tasks such as muck-out, debris removal, tree clearing, or tarp installation, call the hotline to request assistance from volunteers in the community,” the release stated. “All services are provided free of charge, though it is important to note that service is not guaranteed due to the overwhelming demand.”
It noted the Crisis Cleanup Hotline does not assist with social services.
“Volunteers will provide their own tools and equipment for the cleanup work, but the hotline cannot provide any financial assistance or support beyond physical cleanup efforts,” it stated.
