CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a shooting on the city’s West Side left one person dead and two others injured on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers said the deadly shooting unfolded just after 2 p.m. in the 3200 block of West Maypole Avenue in East Garfield Park.

According to police, officers were called to the area following a report of shots fired and when they arrived on the scene, they found two men who had both been hit by gunfire.
The victims, a 31-year-old man who suffered a single gunshot wound to his leg and a 49-year-old man who suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs, were both taken to the hospital where they were listed in good condition.
Officers said a third victim, a 22-year-old man, was also injured in the shooting and took himself to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and an investigation is underway.
