Illinois man struck and killed by train in Montgomery

Montgomery police are conducting a death investigation after a man was struck by a train.

At about 6:32 p.m. Friday, police and fire medics went to the train tracks between US Foods and the Stock Yard after getting a report about a person struck by a train, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. John Combs, 24, of Illinois was found with fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, Coleman said.

Coleman confirmed Combs is the same man listed as missing on several social media websites. One post said he was a journeyman lineman working on power restoration and was last seen in Montgomery.
