Duo sought in deadly pipe beating of homeless men outside Brooklyn ShopRite

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD has identified two men suspected of beating homeless men with a pipe outside a Brooklyn ShopRite last month in an attack that left one victim dead.

Police identified and released photos Thursday of Francisco Corocoj, 25, and Manual Perez, 49, in connection with the deadly beating in Borough Park on the evening of Sept. 18.

The two victims, 42 and 38 years old, were sleeping in the parking lot of the ShopRite at 1080 McDonald Ave. around 7 p.m. when the suspects allegedly assaulted them with metal pipes and a baseball bat.

The victims were bashed multiple times during the assault, leaving them with various injuries, police said.

Both victims were transported by EMS to Maimonides Medical Center.

The 38-year-old—identified as Cos Jervis Jonas Ajpuac—suffered swelling to his legs and stomach, as well as internal bleeding that ultimately killed him two weeks later on Oct. 2, police said. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

The 42-year-old suffered cuts and bruising to his head and body. He was hospitalized in stable condition and later released.
