Senator Klobuchar sends letter asking to solve IV solution shortage after storms Milton and Helene

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is asking federal officials to help solve a problem affecting hospitals and medical facilities nationwide. The Senator sent a letter to the Heath and Human Services Secretary asking him to use his authority to help fix the shortage of IV solutions. A North Carolina plant that manufactured 60% of the IV solutions used in the U.S. had to shut down after Hurricane Helene. Another key manufacturing facility in Florida temporarily closed their doors in preparation for Hurricane Milton, and the current status of the facility is unknown.
