Virginia churches team up to help victims of Hurricane Helene

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Dr. Willard G. Maxwell Jr. of New Beech Grove Baptist Church is partnering with the Virginia Baptist Convention (VBSC), Tidewater Peninsula Pastors, Coalition of Concerned Clergy and InTouch Community Development Corporation to help victims of Hurricane Helene.

Up until Oct. 17, people will be able to donate needed supplies at several drop-off locations throughout Virginia in order to help those in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee impacted by Hurricane Helene. Drop-off locations can be found below:

  • First Baptist Church Campostella , Norfolk : Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Bethany Baptist Church , Chesapeake : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • New Beech Grove Baptist Church , Newport News : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. — Sundays during 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship
  • Zion Baptist Church , Newport News : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Ivy Baptist Church , Newport News : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Moral Hill Baptist Church , Axton : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 5th Street Baptist Church , Lynchburg : Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
