Deputies responded to the jail following reports of an attack on an inmate. The investigation revealed that the victim had been housed with another inmate, identified as Asia Harvey, 27, for a period of three days. During this time, Harvey reportedly displayed irresponsible behavior.

The situation escalated when Harvey allegedly:

  • Threw toilet water at her cellmate
  • Grabbed the victim by the hair
  • Punched the victim
  • Jumped on top of the victim
  • Bit the victim’s arm
  • Bit off a large portion of the victim’s eyebrow

Resolution and Charges

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, correction officers intervened and successfully separated Harvey from the victim. Following the incident, Asia Harvey was charged with aggravated battery.
