Bucs’ Receiver Evans Focused on ‘Winning Ball,’ Not Feud with Saints’ Lattimore

For the second week in a row, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves heading into extremely hostile territory. They take on the New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon in the closing half of a two-game NFC South road trip.

When visiting enemy grounds, its commonplace to expect some extra steam with the given history and tradition of NFL rivalries. However, one player from each side turns that heat up an extra level.

Bucs’ receiver Mike Evans and Saints’ defensive back Marshon Lattimore have an extensive feud dating back to the 2017 season. Saying the two do not like each other would understate the vitriol they have exchanged in the midst of their battles.

But Evans has taken a mature approach heading into this matchup, seemingly understanding the importance of his presence in this matchup.

“I’ve done a bad job in the past of letting it go over the play when I shouldn’t have. But I’m more mature now and our team is focused on….playing winning ball,” Evans said. “You can’t play winning ball when you’re kicked out… a little chirping never hurts, but definitely got to be smart.”
