Steve Sarkisian Makes Official Announcement on Quinn Ewers

Quinn Ewers will officially be back in the starting lineup for Texas on Saturday against Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry game. Ewers missed two games after suffering an oblique injury against UTSA earlier this season, but reports have indicated he’s back to full health following the team’s bye week.

On Thursday, head coach Steve Sarkisian announced that Ewers will start for the Longhorns on Saturday against the Sooners. Texas fans have to be thrilled to have their elite quarterback under center for this pivotal game.

Redshirt freshman Arch Manning performed admirably in Ewers’ absence, and the future is bright in Austin, with Manning’s stock certainly rising. However, there’s little question that Ewers gives this team its best chance to accomplish its goals this season, including winning the SEC and competing for a national championship.

Ewers will be looking for revenge over Oklahoma this week after he threw two interceptions in a losing effort last season. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach this Saturday’s pivotal Red River Rivalry game.
