New Rockton bakery mixes modern setting with old-fashioned approach

ROCKTON – The culinary creator behind downtown’s new bakery is a young entrepreneur with an old-fashioned approach. Everything that Anna Pipitone prepares at La Croûte Bakery Cafe, 116 W. Main St., starts with a bowl of flour. The 24-year-old baker and business owner takes pride in using whole ingredients and making every loaf of bread, scone or other treat from scratch. Nothing is premade she said, and that includes cultivating her own yeast from flour and water.
