SHORT HILLS, NJ — The Millburn Police Department reported that there were two separate shoplifting incidents at Macy’s in the second half of September in which thieves took a total of almost $3,500 in merchandise.
According to Police Captain Mark Azzopardi, on September 12, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Macy’s in the Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associate reported that two men from Newark concealed a total of $1,647.14 of merchandise and left the store without paying. Police officers were able to locate them and placed them under arrest, charging them with shoplifting.

On September 23, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Macy’s in the Mall at Short Hills to a report of theft that had just occurred. A Macy’s associate reported that two men hid a total of $1,824.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. They were also both placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.
