NYC crew steals more than a dozen ATMs in 4-month burglary spree

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A months-long crime spree across Brooklyn and Manhattan has netted a burglary crew more than a dozen cash machines, police said Thursday as they released images of some of the suspects.

At least four people are wanted in the spree, which stretches back to early June—and across 10 NYPD precincts, mostly in Brooklyn. Nearly all of the businesses targeted were delis, but pizzerias and a juice bar were also hit, according to police.

The neighborhoods hit include Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ocean Hill, Bushwick, Brownsville, Williamsburg, East Williamsburg, Park Slope, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and Greenpoint. One burglary in Harlem has also been linked to the crew.

Every burglary involved the suspects striking at night or in the early morning hours, entering a business and then either stealing or attempting to steal an ATM inside by hauling it into a getaway vehicle, police said.
