How to Blink: A guide to the 2024 festival of lights and sounds

Blink Cincinnati returns Oct. 17-20. Are you ready?

Having never attended Blink before, I know I’m not. That’s why I did a little research before going to the nation’s largest art, light and projection mapping festival, which attracts millions of visitors to Cincinnati.

I spoke with Blink Executive Director Justin Brookhart about his tips and tricks for covering the festival – how to get there, where to park, which installations are must-sees and more.

Here are some Blink dos and don’ts, according to an expert.

The earlier you get to Blink, the better

Blink officially starts at 7 p.m. each night, but the fun starts way before that, Brookhart said.

“Blink is lights on at 7:00, but we encourage people to come down early, enjoy the public parks, get a bite to eat,” he said.

Food and beverages are available in multiple locations of the festival, per the Blink website. According to a press release, the Findlay Market zone is hosting an outdoor night market featuring several local food vendors. Findlay Market’s two outdoor bars, Jane’s and Race St. Station, are also open, as well as two mobile bars with limited menus. Hours of operation may vary.
