‘The scope and scale is hard to describe’: Sacramento search and rescue team in Florida for hurricane response

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – More than 300 first responders from California are in Florida to help with hurricane response. Florida has been hit hard by two hurricanes in less than two weeks. Governor Gavin Newsom deployed California Urban Search and Rescue teams out of Southern California a day after Helene hit. Now, more firefighters have been sent to help after Hurricane Milton for a total of 354 people.
