TAGHKANIC, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A Brooklyn man was arrested on Monday following a traffic stop in Taghkanic, according to New York State Police. Alphonso Edmundson Quzack, 39, is facing numerous charges.

On October 7 around 10:50 a.m., state police stopped an Infiniti G37 on the Taconic State Parkway in Taghkanic for reportedly committing vehicle and traffic law violations. During the ensuing investigation, troopers determined that the driver, identified as Quzack, allegedly had nearly 14.7 ounces of crack cocaine and 3.1 ounces of cocaine in the car.
Quzack was taken into custody at the scene. He now faces the following charges:
- First-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance – intent to sell
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Criminal use of drug paraphernalia
