Greenville, Asheville mentioned on ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’ following Tropical Storm Helene

Powerhouse singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson is asking the public to help the Carolinas recover from Tropical Storm Helene.

On Thursday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Greenville and Asheville, North Carolina, were mentioned. Clarkson’s partner station, WYFF 4, also played aerial footage of Asheville areas devastated by flooding and extensive home damage.

“Our thoughts are with everyone in the path of Hurricane Milton. As we go to air, the storm is actually passing over central Florida, and we encourage everyone to stay safe. It’s clearly been a devastating season already,” Clarkson said. “Just two weeks ago, Helene cut a path from Florida to Virginia, causing billions in damage. Over 200 people lost their lives. Among the hardest hit were parts of the Carolinas and Tennessee.”

WYFF 4 anchorwoman Sydney Shadrix said that although normalcy is returning in some areas, others remain “just devastated.”

“For reference, we’re in Greenville, South Carolina and just about an hour north is Asheville, North Carolina. And parts of Asheville have just been wiped away. And I think we are finally beginning to comprehend just how long it’s going to take for these communities to recover,” Shadrix said.
