Woman charged with fentanyl trafficking, child endangerment

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Owensboro woman has been booked into the Daviess County Detention Center and is being charged with trafficking fentanyl and child endangerment.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office states on Thursday, detectives along with Kentucky State Police and US Homeland Security served a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of West 10th Street as part of a fentanyl trafficking investigation.

Officials say in the months prior to the search operation, detectives made multiple undercover controlled purchases of fentanyl from Tiana Garrard, 28.

During the search, the following items were reportedly found:

  • Large quantity of fentanyl pills
  • Tooter straws with drug residue
  • Digital scales
  • Oxycodone pills
  • Marijuana
  • U.S. currency

Officials also say some of the evidence, including the fentanyl pills, were found within reach of an infant child that also lived in the home. The Department of Community Bases Services were called to assist.

In addition to trafficking and child endangerment charges, Garrard is also facing possession charges.
