DETROIT (WWJ) — A Warren man has been charged with murder in the shooting of a Detroit man in a dispute at a factory , last Sunday night.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday announced that 31-year-old Jonathan Leeaveret is facing one count of second degree murder and one count of felony firearm in connection with the death of 31-year-old Harmond Ulmer.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, Detroit Police responded to Detroit Manufacturing Systems, in the 12600 block of Artesian Street, near Davison and Schoolcraft, on a report of a shooting.
Outside the business, officers found Ulmer’s car crashed into a telephone pole. Ulmer was inside the vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to prosecutors, Leeaveret and Ulmer — who both worked at the business — got into an argument that night. When the dispute escalated, it’s alleged that Williams pulled a gun and fatally shot Ulmer.
Speaking to WWJ Newsradio 950’s Charlie Langton , the victim’s mother said the argument between her son and the shooter — who was working security at the business — was over a food delivery.
