As crime falls in York, forum looks to keep momentum going

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — How to keep the momentum going — that was the focus of a crime forum in York County this week.

Crime is down in the city and everyone wants to keep it going in that direction.

Homelessness and economic development were also discussed.

“Stand up. Don’t shrink. Get back out there,” Michael Muldrow, York Police Commissioner, said. “That’s been the secret sauce to what we’ve done in York. Getting people, filling people with hope and getting them back on their front porches, on their sidewalks, getting them involved in the journey of taking their neighborhood back.”

The commissioner also addressed building stronger neighborhoods in the city to help reduce gaps between better-off and less-well-off residents.
