Light show! Northern lights make amazing appearance across the New Jersey night sky

The northern lights were quite visible on Thursday night and could be seen in areas all across New Jersey. A good crowd of people lined the Interstate 80 scenic overlook in Allamuchy, Waren County waiting to see the lights. Preparation involved grabbing snacks, staying warm and setting up cameras. Then all that was left to do was wait for the sun to go down. The sky began turning light pink around 7:15 p.m. Then, pillars of fuchsia, purple and red along with hues of green revealed themselves to the naked eye and were seen even brighter in photos.
