Freeport community gathers to remember Timmothy Green Jr.

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Family and Friends gathered to remember Timmothy Green Jr. after his death on Wednesday night.

His family described him as a man who was always willing to help others.

In his memory, they held a candlelight vigil and released balloons into the sky. His mother urged anyone with information about her son’s death to come forward.

“I lost my son to a senseless violence. He was shot in his own home and we don’t know what to do,” said Jessica Green. “Please help us. This is so senseless you guys, we need to stop and come together.”

Police have not released the names of any suspects and said his death is still an active investigation. If anyone has information call Freeport Police at (815) 235-8222 or Stateline CrimeStoppers at (866) 847-7669.
