Man who got out of prison last month accused in killing of man getting haircut

A man was shot in the head while getting his haircut at an East Price Hill home Thursday night, Cincinnati police reported.

Joshua Sherman, 25, was found shot around 7:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Eighth Street, police said. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Early Friday, Djaune Ferguson, 37, was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing Friday morning.

Ferguson is on probation having been released from prison five weeks ago after serving about 15 years for the armed robbery of a Silverton restaurant and a Oakley Fifth Third bank, records show.

The robberies occurred four days apart in 2008. Ferguson was caught after Oakley residents called police to report that Ferguson was trying to get into their homes and offering them large amounts of money for a ride, The Enquirer reported at the time.

Ferguson was also convicted of another armed robbery in 2003, which occurred when he was just 16. He was tried as an adult in that case and sentenced to four years in prison.
