Northern lights draw viewers’ eyes to the night sky Photos

(WLUK) — Northeast Wisconsin was once again treated to a northern lights show Thursday night. Many FOX 11 viewers shared their photos through Chime In. The aurora borealis is influenced by activity around the sun, such as sunspots. Sunspots are areas of the sun’s surface that gets distributed by its magnetic field, allowing for the sun to eject particles into space. Sometimes these particles head towards Earth, and gets pulled closer by Earth’s magnetic field, eventually hitting the atmosphere.
