Improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions along sections of Phoenix-area freeways this weekend, Oct. 11-14, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Overnight restrictions on Interstate 17
ADOT is continuing work on its road improvement project along Interstate 17 between Happy Valley Road and State Route 74.
Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (right lane open) between Jomax Road and Loop 303 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Southbound I-17 will also be narrowed to one lane (left lane open) between State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Loop 303 from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Southbound I-17 on- or off-ramps at Dove Valley Road and Loop 303 will be closed at times during the mostly overnight weekend work.
ADOT recommended that drivers traveling on I-17 in these areas should allow extra time and consider traveling when restrictions are not in place.
