The annual Calf Fry Festival is set to take place this Saturday at the Starlight Ranch, featuring the high-energy performance of Motley 2, an internationally touring tribute band dedicated to capturing the look, sound, and spirit of legendary rock band Motley Crue. This year’s festival promises to be a lively evening of unique cuisine, music, and charity, with $5 from every ticket sold being donated to The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center.
“We want to help make the Texas Panhandle a safe place for children,” said Bobby Lee, co-owner of the Big Texan and Starlight Ranch. “We can’t wait for folks to come out, enjoy a Texas culinary delight, and some great music too!”
The event not only features live music but also a celebration of calf fries — a local delicacy often referred to as “mountain oysters.” For those less adventurous, chicken strips will be available, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting a worthy cause
This year, proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center, a nonprofit organization that serves child victims of abuse and their families in the Texas Panhandle. Shelly Bohannon, executive director of The Bridge, shared her excitement about the collaboration.
