WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Experts are sharing their essential skincare tips for the fall and winter months ahead of the cooler weather.
Dr. Liza A. Moore, a double board-certified dermatologist and Clinical Director of Luxe Dermatology said it’s important people change their skincare routine during the different seasons.
“D.C. is particularly interesting because it’s warm and in the winter time, it’s cold and it’s dry. So, often times, you’re gonna need to change it up. You’re gonna need different products for the winter,” said Moore.

Moore recommends switching to gentle cleansers, using heavier moisturizers for the face and body and using sunscreen.
‘Your main things for your face are gonna be your sunscreen and your retinol. Summer sunscreen might be more mattifying and less moisturizing. Your winter sunscreen you’re gonna wanna switch it up and do things that have more moisture,” said Moore.
Moore also highlights the need for soothing products for sensitive skin to combat the drying effects of colder air.
