Foodie news: Don Melchor Mexican Cuisine opens on Bannerman Road

Burritos, tacos and some of the “best margaritas,” as one patron enthused, are now being served at Don Melchor Mexican Cuisine in northeast Tallahassee. The authentic Mexican establishment opened to an gleeful response on Sept. 19.

The intimate restaurant that sits a couple minutes away from the new Publix Super Market at The Shops at Bannerman Village is decorated in vibrant shades of reds and greens. Banquet tables sit in the center, inviting for family style dinners and larger gatherings. The chairs are each decorated with little characters, some resembling mariachi players.

Guests posting on the restaurant’s Facebook page sing praises, such as, “Did not disappoint! We will be back. Great food and service.” The restaurant responded to the comments saying, “It’s so heartwarming to read all your welcome messages! We’re thrilled to hear you’re already enjoying Don Melchor Mexican Cuisine!”
