APSO: Donaldsonville mayoral candidate among 2 arrested, 1 wanted in stolen property scheme

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation into a multi-parish stolen property scheme ended in two men being arrested and another man wanted, according to a news release from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Glenn Price, 68, of Donaldsonville, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of stolen things and operating a scrap metal business without a license. Price is running against Leroy Sullivan Sr. in the race for City of Donaldsonville mayor on Nov. 5 .

Theodore Myers, 47, of Darrow, was arrested on fugitive charges and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On Monday, Sept. 30, detectives were notified by Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding an investigation into the theft and illegal sale of a telecommunication company’s copper wire, which had reportedly been stolen from utility poles in Livingston and East Feliciana parishes, according to APSO.

During the investigation, detectives identified Myers and Kyle Melancon, 44, of Prairieville, as suspects. As the investigation progressed, detectives discovered that Melancon and Myers managed multiple illegal transactions with Price, who reportedly purchased the stolen copper wire for cash, according to APSO.
