Suspect arrested on 1st degree murder charges in fatal 2022 Phoenix shooting

A homicide investigation that spanned over two years has concluded with the arrest of the suspect in the 2022 shooting death of Dominic Daughtrey .

Steven Deloach was booked into jail and charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday, according to Phoenix police. Detectives had been gathering sufficient evidence over the past two years to connect Deloach to the murder.

The Phoenix police said that the DNA was the key link used by detectives along with other investigative techniques.

On the night of June 3, 2022, Phoenix police discovered 39-year-old Daughtrey inside his truck near 4646 North 39th Avenue. Authorities reported that he had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dominic Daughtrey was a father who worked in business management. His obituary described him as passionate, energetic, creative, and deeply loved.

Last year, Phoenix police released a video of a man they believed to be connected to the case . It is unclear whether Deloach was identified as the subject in the video.
