Greensboro man wins $150,000 after buying $5 scratch-off at convenience store

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Ian Courts, of Greensboro, bought a $5 scratch-off on Wednesday and won a $150,000 top prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

Courts bought his winning Xtreme Cashword ticket from Penny Saver on Lees Chapel Road in Greensboro.

He collected his prize at lottery headquarters Thursday.

After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $107,251.
