Anthony Edwards is mostly seen as his generation’s Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, mostly due to their style of play. Edwards’ affinity for midrange jumpers and slashing caused many fans to compare the Minnesota Timberwolves star to MJ and Kobe.
However, there’s one aspect of the two legends’ game that Edwards disagrees with. In an interview with comedian Chris Tucker for Interview Magazine, the Timberwolves star said that he disagrees a bit with how both MJ and Kobe led the teams.
“I can agree to disagree, because in today’s game everybody’s different,” Edwards told Tucker . “You can’t talk to everybody the same. You got to talk to players differently. Certain players can take it. I talk to some of my teammates like, ‘Hey, get your s*** together.’ But some players, you got to go talk to them on the side.”
Bryant and Jordan are well-known for their ruthless style of leadership. The two legends were known to butt heads with their teammates and used trash talking as a way to fire up their teammates. It’s a divisive method. Some believe that it’s important for team success, while others think it’s unnecessary bullying.
