Shooter sentenced in Wellington Avenue murder

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester man was found guilty of murder Friday for a 2022 drive-by shooting on Wellington Avenue.

Marlon Williams, 35, was convicted on second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapons charges. Prosecutors said he was driving on July 15, 2022 when he saw Shaquan Parker and shot him twice from the car. Parker, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Williams was arrested on September 5, 2023. Police said he was carrying the weapon used in the murder at the time of his arrest.

Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on December 2.
