REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) – Republic Animal Control has been recognized as one of the best shelters in Missouri. Republic Animal Control moved into a new building on State Highway 174 four years ago. Previously, the shelter housed between 10 and 20 dogs and a limited number of cats. Since then, the shelter has doubled the number of dogs it can house and nearly quadrupled the number of cats it can offer people.
