San Diego company changes to four-day work week

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A San Diego-based company is officially implementing a four-day workweek for its employees after a five-month trial.

100Percent, located at 10792 Roselle St. in Sorrento Valley, is changing its workweek to Monday through Thursday for 32 hours, according to the outdoor performance company.

The company, which specializes in eyewear and technical apparel, reported high productivity, communication, collaboration and focus at work during the trial period. Employees with 100Percent have also noticed increased physical and mental health, more job satisfaction and better work-life balance.

100Percent CEO and Co-founder Ludo Boinnard claims the company has “found a way to keep our employees’ creativity and productivity high without the burnout that often comes with this competitive industry.”

“We embody the brand and give our all in everything we do. Ironically, in the outdoor industry, you do not see many companies adopting policies allowing employees to enjoy being outside during the week. In San Diego, our employees report doing a variety of physical activities on their day off, and those who ride moto or mountain bikes can do so on Fridays, avoiding crowds and able to focus on their families during the longer weekend,” Boinnard said.
