Massive Attack cancels DC concert, other appearances

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Massive Attack, the group known for blending hip hop, dub reggae, techno and rock music, said it will not be coming to the District as part of its tour.

The group posted a to its Instagram story Friday, noting that the cancellation and others were “due to unforseen circumstances.”

Massive Attack was set to play a number of venues in several states, including Georgia, Florida, and Massachusetts. The group’s stop in D.C. had been scheduled for Oct. 22 at The Anthem.

Due to unforseen circumstances, Massive Attack must regrettably cancel their upcoming performances at III Points Festival in Miami FL on October 19th, as well as their shows in Atlanta GA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and Forest Hills NY. We appreciate your understanding at this time.”

Ticketmaster noted the D.C. cancellation on its website , stating that it would issue refunds to people’s original methods of payment as soon as it received funds fromt he event organizer. Ticketmaster said that refunds should appear within 14-21 days.
