‘Unacceptable’: Savannah’s mayor, drivers weigh in on President Street railroad crossing backups

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah’s mayor is pushing for action following a nearly hour-long delay at the East President Street railroad crossing on Thursday. “Fifty-two minutes is too long for our community to be impacted,” Mayor Van Johnson said. “If you have an ambulance or police car that needs to get to where they’re going, to me, this is just totally unacceptable.”
