Clear Lake Trail: Check out West Palm Beach’s latest lake trail for cyclists, pedestrians

The Clear Lake Trail runs along the western edge of Clear Lake from Okeechobee Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach . The $2.5 million trail is a 1.5 miles long, eight-foot-wide paved path lined with 148 newly planted trees including live oaks, wild tamarind, mahogany, East Palatka holly, gumbo limbo and buttonwoods. The trail open to cyclists and pedestrians leads to a 700-foot boardwalk that boarders the lake’s southern shore.

“It’s also a wonderful recreational trail, allowing individuals and families all around the city to get outside, walk, bike and commune with nature,” Mayor Keith James said at the opening ceremony in August.

A cruise along the trail is the perfect way to get a glimpse of local wildlife, from wading birds, and ducks, or to catch a sunrise.
