Lean Upstate Tutoring and Liberty Oaks Academy has grown from a small tutoring service into an educational institution in five years.
On Thursday, the K-12 academy celebrated the opening of its new location, 112 Montgomery Drive in Anderson, with students, parents, and teachers.
Brandi Hallmark, founder and director, said the school has evolved from humble beginnings, and its new location will offer students more resources and opportunities.
“We started in a little office space off Clemson Boulevard. We first enrolled 12 students, and now we have 120 students,” Hallmark said.
According to Liberty Oak Academy’s website, the school specializes in empowering its students with a curriculum that explores complex subjects, encourages critical thinking, and fosters a passion for learning.
“We are different from other schools in that we can meet all students’ needs,” Hallmark said, “whether they need to be challenged, graduate early, or scale back and receive more help, we are prepared to support them.”
