New York State Police investigate fatal accident in Chautauqua County

Ellicott, N.Y. ( WJET/WFXP ) — State Police in New York have begun investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Thursday in the town of Ellicott, New York, about two miles north of Jamestown.

According to The New York State Police, they were called to the intersection of State Route 394 and Water Street at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday for a report of a fatal two-car accident.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a 2010 Toyota, said to be driven by 66-year-old Lori Maloy of Warren PA, was traveling north on State Route 394 when she stopped at a stop sign and then pulled into the path of a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Sentra was identified as 41-year-old Jacqueline Visker of Kennedy, New York.

The victim, who was a passenger in the Toyota at the time of the collision, was 95-year-old Virginia Maloy of Sinclairville, New York. Virginia Maloy sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lori Maloy and Jacqueline Visker were both transported to UPMC Chautauqua for evaluation.
