Exclusive: Former President Bill Clinton has multiple Columbus campaign events for VP Harris on Monday

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Former President Bill Clinton is expected to make multiple campaign stops for Vice President Kamala Harris in Columbus on Monday, WRBL has confirmed.

“President Clinton is my friend and I look forward to having him in Columbus campaigning for Vice President Harris next week,” said retired dean of the Georgia House Calvin Smyre.

On Saturday, Democratic supporters began receiving emails for the Clinton event in Columbus. It did not give details, but was requesting people RSVP for the event.

When Clinton was campaigning for the White House in 1992, he took a bus tour through south Georgia. It started in Columbus.

Georgia Public Broadcasting reported that Clinton was going to be actively working for the Harris-Walz campaign in rural parts of battleground states.

Georgia is one of seven critical states in this election in which the polling between Harris and Former President Donald Trump is neck-and-neck.

Both Harris and Trump have been paying a lot of attention to Georgia. They are using high-profile surrogates such as Clinton to reach voters in the Peach State. Trump will be conducting a town hall in Cumming, Ga., this week that will be televised on FOX. The town hall is to discuss women’s issues and is slated to be an all-female audience.
