Council OKs notice to issue bond debt for new lake to be used for water supply, recreation

Lubbock is one step closer to constructing its seventh Canyon Lake. The Lubbock City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the publication of a notice of intent to issue $66 million in bond debt for water and wastewater projects, including funding for land purchases and design work for the future Canyon Lake 7, which officials estimated will provide 10 million gallons a day to the city’s water supply and become a recreation hub for the Hub City.
