Junior Claire Orn placed third at No. 3 singles at a WIAA Division 1 sectional on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Elkhorn Area High School. Orn lost to Badger senior Kate McCann 6-1, 6-2 in a No. 3 singles semifinal match. Orn then outlasted Monona Grove sophomore Brooke Becker 6-4, 6-7 (7), 10-7 in the third-place match. McCann went on to beat Mukwonago sophomore Jazzmyn Falk 6-3, 6-1 in the championship bout.
