One more mild and pleasant day Sunday before a November-like chill settles in next week

SUNDAY: Partly sunny and rather mild; some showers will be possible, but mostly north. High: 76. SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild with a few showers possible. Low: 54. The beautiful weather that we saw to close the work and school week continued into the start of our weekend as Saturday featured mostly sunny skies, a bit of a stiff northwesterly breeze, but also comfortable afternoon highs in the mid and upper 70s. While Sunday features just a little more cloud cover, and perhaps even some showers, primarily near and north of Interstate 80, much of the day should be dry with again rather mild afternoon high temperatures well into the 70s. More of the area has a slightly better chance to see some showers Sunday night as a cold front tracks through. The front lacks in moisture, but has a potent shot of chilly air behind it that will provide an extended November-like chill for the first half of the week ahead. Highs will only be in the 50s for much of this stretch (probably not getting out of the 40s in the higher elevations north), with a brisk breeze adding a chill. And there will be more possible frosty nights ahead as well, although it’s possible enough of a breeze stays up overnight to prevent frost formation. While we do still increasingly need the rain, the forecast looks largely dry all of next week, perhaps right through the following weekend.
