Local business destroyed by Hurricane Michael gives back to victims of Milton

BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A local business destroyed by Hurricane Michael six years ago is giving back to hurricane victims in Southwest Florida.

Six years ago, Roberts & Roberts Inc. had their entire facility destroyed by Hurricane Michael.

They had just finished moving into the new building just five days prior to the storm.

A Tampa road paving company came to Panama City to aid with much-needed supplies. Now he’s doing the same for them.

“We got generators chain saws extension cords toilet paper water tarps, the same thing they brought me,” George Roberts said.

Ace Hardware in Mexico Beach and Half Hitch Tackle also provided donations.

The truck is leaving Saturday at 3 a.m. and will be arriving in Tampa at 9 a.m.

The supplies are going to Ajax Paving shop which employs 600 people and is already working to get the roads in the Tampa area repaired.
